Chesapeake Adventures on the water
Premier charters and outdoor experiences in the heart of the Chesapeake Bay.
Pick your kind of day
Two trips are on the calendar right now, with three more launching as the fleet and season allow. Every trip runs with all the gear, straight answers on anything you need to bring, and a captain who fishes and hunts these waters year round.
Bowfishing
Rivers and creeks lit up like daylight, bow in hand, snakehead, carp and catfish moving under the lights. The most fun most people have never heard of.

Bowfishing after dark
We push into the rivers and creeks after sunset with the deck lights on and the water glowing. Snakehead, carp and catfish come out of the shadows, and you get shot after shot from a stable platform built for exactly this.
- All bows, arrows and gear provided — nothing to buy
- No fishing licence needed — you are covered on the boat
- Perfect for first-timers and experienced shooters alike
- Targeting invasive species, so the fish do not go to waste
- Spring season — March, April and May
Waterfowl the Chesapeake way
Tidal marsh, open water and cut fields, hunted the way the conditions call for on the day. We scout through the week so that when you show up, the spread is already where the birds want to be.
- Morning or evening hunts, four to five hours either way
- Blinds, layout boats and field spreads to match the weather
- Decoys, calling and a finished retriever included
- Room for six guns — good for families and corporate groups
- Youth and first-season hunters genuinely welcome
“You haven’t experienced Maryland fishing… until you’ve seen it lit up at night.”
A small outfit that shows up prepared
Local water, local knowledge
These are the creeks and marshes we grew up on. We scout between trips so your day starts where the fish and birds actually are.
Everything is included
Bows, arrows, decoys, calls, blinds, safety gear and the boat. Bring layers and a cooler — we handle the rest. Bowfishing needs no fishing licence at all; for hunting we tell you exactly which licence and stamps to get.
Beginners are the point
Plenty of our guests have never shot a bow or sat in a blind. We coach, we go slow, and nobody feels like a passenger.
Straight answers, fast
Enquiries get a real reply within 24 hours — usually the same day. If the weather is wrong, we will tell you before you drive out.
A boat built for the job
Shallow-draft, wide-open deck, elevated shooting platform and lighting rig. Comfortable to fish from and easy to move around.
More on the way
Rock fishing, sunset cruises and private events are next. Existing guests hear about new dates first.

Steve McCartney
Chesapeake Cast & Blast is a small, owner-run outfit. When you book, you are booking Steve — the same person who answers the phone, scouts the water and runs the boat.
The idea was simple: run the kind of trip he would want to be a guest on. Good gear, no rushing, honest advice about conditions, and enough patience to put a brand-new shooter on their first fish.
Let’s get you on the water
Tell us what you are after and how many are coming. We will come back with dates, what to expect and exactly what it costs — no obligation.
